After being at the farm show for most of the morning yesterday we were able to stop by simonian farms in Fresno on the way home and was able to check out there killer collection of ballon tire bicycles, tractors, and vintage advertising! Was able to speak with the employee/owners good friend and the idea of possibly bringing back the Simonian Bicycle Swap Meet came up. There biggest thing was seeing if there was an interest still.
Who would be interested in another Bike Swap at this cool historical location in the near future?!

Having another swap/ride at the Simonian Farm would be fantastic. The success of that meet was on Bonnie Simonian-now deceased. It was a lot of work putting it on and great support is what is needed to make it happen-any meet-anywhere! Bonnie had the connects in town-radio-television-newspapers. Write ups by fellow C.A.B.E. member's contributions in the several bicycle news letters of the time contributed heavily to its success in the following years. This was long before internet service and social media! It may be possible-has anyone contacted the Simonians to see if it could happen. I think some family members are still running the place-good starting point.

I've been kicking around the thought of doing a swap meet in the last month. We simply don't have enough. I found a spot in Atwater which is near Merced, a nice in between area for the Socal and Norcal guys, but.... pricey to rent. It would cost me $1-2k. It does have plenty of food options, beer, bathrooms, everything within about 100 feet,.. but the cost is a killer.

Maybe I could attempt to make this a go if I had help from a few others to get it all set up and running again? Any takers??

Depending on when, I’d be up for it.
