10:30 PM Sunday night. I am finally home in my own bed and enjoying the A.C. I started this 3,384 mile odyssey in Boise Idaho to attend the Boise swap meet. It was great to see Matt, Chris, and Blake. Thank you for your hospitality and the warm welcome. From there it was on to the Nevada desert where I met up with a former co-worker who is living off the grid. Then on to Reno where I relieved the El Dorado of $147 of their money. Next stop Lodi, CA to Have dinner and spend the night with some old friends. Then on to Malibu, CA, I have a friend who lost a home there and spent two days visiting with him and his wife and helping them out. Thursday the swells were coming in in perfect sets at Malibu, Pismo Beach, and Morro Bay, so I hung out with the local surfers. Then it was time to head North to the Jafco Swap Meet. The fast route is I-5, but I chose the 101 and went through Guadalupe, Wild Horse, and Salinas. Friday at 1 PM I was pulling up to Jim's shop in Stockton.
@fordmike65 and
@39zep were already there holding court with Jim. It was 92 degrees so I went back to the hotel and hung around the pool for a couple hours before I met my Lodi friends for dinner at the Waterloo restaurant. 5:30 AM Saturday morning and back at Jim's for the swap. Dave, Ernie, Eddie Boy, Mike, John, Ken, Mark, Jeff, Gary, Chris, Oscar, Oliver, Anthony, Xavier, Marc, Jose, Tyler, and the rest of you, I can't tell you how much seeing you guys means to me. (Now if we could just get Rudy to show up,) LOL What a great gathering of nice people. I left at 2 pm and drove to Medford, OR where I stayed Saturday night. Sunday was the final leg of the trip home heading north on I-5 I stopped in Kelso WA and got to see my grandson hit the walk off double in extra innings that won the game and the tournament championship. What a great end to a fantastic week. I'm rambling because I'm exhausted. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Again THANK YOU all for your friendship, stories, laughs, and mutual interest in this hobby.
