I used to be on the CABE years ago, and I’m glad I have a reason to return. I am trying to ID the sprocket in the attached photo. After way too much searching I found a period photo of another bike with the same sprocket. It has narrow hearts, but it does not appear Schwinn to me.

Thanks, that was a ridiculously fast answer to my question. I'm going to do a bit more research before I show off the whole bike, it's shiny but a bit of a pile mechanically.

Here's another example.

Most Westfield bikes from the teens-twenties have more proprietary crank sets, such as a Hartford two piece crank hanger or the double-D one piece crank set.
From the other thread with additional pictures, it looks like the frame has oval-shaped chain stays where joined at the bottom bracket.

E.C. Simmons offered the 4-hearts chain ring, seen in catalog pages staring about 1913(?).

Cool catalog scans! The frame on the first page looks extremely similar, as does the truss rod fork on the second page.

I'm not familiar with the Simmons name. Did Westfield build frames for multiple brands?

I believe those years parts lists might have been for H.P. Snyder built bikes.

I don't believe that Westfield built for E.C. Simmons hardware wholesaler (in that era).
Westfield did build for Shapleigh Hardware (who would acquire Simmons about ~1940?).
