I recently bought a prewar 24” Meade from @prewarmachine just to use wheels, fenders, drop stand on one of our Alexander scooters! Not perfect but it looks Kinda more like a scooter than just a frame! 🤠

Yesterday I purchased the Alexander scooter rear wheel that @New Mexico Brant had listed on this forum. I hadn’t done much with my collection over the summer so this got me back to thinking about my Alexander collection. In post #34 see quote below my son and I had traveled from Michigan to Texas in March to tour the Alexander building to see where the bikes and scooters were made and rented. There was a lot of history there and evidence of the factory. The owner Chris was slowly fixing it up keeping the history alive and preserving it. He was very interested to learn more. So yesterday I text him to see how the work is coming along.
WELL…. He sold the building 3 months ago! It’s being gutted and turned into apartments! While it’s good the building is still there, all the architecture, work bench, the area where bikes were painted etc will be gone. I wish I could have bought and preserved the building, but at least I got to see it as it was and take pictures.

This week my son and I drove 17 hours to Paris Texas to tour the John Alexander factory and shop! It was an amazing trip with great memories made! And we were given these pieces from John’s big work bench for our Alexander collection!
