Because of the way team Lidl-Trek completely misread the make up of the large breakaway, Stage 13 was definitely two races in one.
Mads Pedersen had to pretty much go it alone to salvage what was a quickly evaporating lead in the green jersey competition.
That’s Jasper Philipsen on the line at the intermediate sprint, with Mads getting second by the width of a tire, and Binium Girmay taking third.
Amazing effort put out just to try and keep the points classification competitive.
Bravo!
This is the Jayco rider Mauro Schmid taking the stage win in style.
Because of the aggressive riding by Tom Pidcock, he moved way up in the overall standings and is now a threat for the podium in Paris.
Remco is going to have to mark Pidcock’s every move in these next two mountain stages.
The race for third is definitely on!
