This was my first time going to this swap. I was not prepared for the walk which seemed to go on forever...I had to remind myself to hydrate(lol too excited to slow down- ill blame it on the ADHD). I will most definitely go again. Too much to look at and time seemed to fly. There were lots of nice people there and many from out of state from conversations I had. It was a great family event!! Turlock was well worth the trip!!
Observation I made....the tool section was very busy and lots of buying happened here... I have never seen so many guys go crazy over tools in one spot. All those tinkerers....

Agreed! There's always Cool "other" stuff at car meets as in anything vintage/antique practically!
As long as your periphery is wide...you will Score!!

Funny, as bike guys we’re drawn to the same stuff. Looking at the photos posted I think I took the same ones. Here’s my bike photo dump from some of the junk I saw yesterday -

IMG_8887.jpeg

This pile didn’t move from when I first saw it at 7:00am to when I left at 3:00pm. As others have noted, some steep asking prices.

Girl’s postwar JC Higgins

IMG_8889.jpeg

Nice Cook Bros 20”. I’m not super savvy on BMX stuff, so not sure if this was OG or not. I just know Cook Bro$ stuff can be expen$ive.

IMG_8923.jpeg

A clean Schwinn Sting. I didn’t even ask.

IMG_8893.jpeg

More BMX. A rare Moto Pro, an early Champion, and a Littlejohn/Murphy monoshock.

IMG_8900.jpeg

1971 Krate for $3k

IMG_8917.jpeg

Random Sting Rays in the $200-$400 range. Only the Coppertone was original paint.

IMG_8919.jpeg

Here’s the aforementioned overpriced middleweights.

IMG_8920.jpeg

IMG_8922.jpeg

And the 1950 Panther for $1k. The owner wasn’t there when I stopped so I spoke to his buddy manning the swap space. The buddy said everyone kept saying it was overpriced but the seller wouldn’t budge. Not my cup of tea but would make for some good yard art.

Lastly, some early stuff that caught my eye, yet again I’m not familiar with what I’m looking at. Cool old bike items nonetheless.

Figured I try and put some names with faces from our group CABE photo at Tim's swap space yesterday. I can edit this post for the names I don't have/know, just let me know.
Top row L-R, Mr Gilligan (Sorry Gerry I don't recall his name), Gerry, John, John K., Tim, Armando, Dave, Todd, Ken. Bottom row L-R, Mercedes, Eddie, Jesus, Jeff, Rudy, Jon, and Chris.

Had a killer time at the Turlock swap even knowing I only got to spend a few hours in the morning before heading out. Was able to buy lots of killer stuff dirt cheap and got to catch up with lots of old friends. One of the things I snagged that threw me for a loop was this early block skip tooth chain. Definitely not NOS but pretty darn nice for its age. Anyone know of the brand??

It’s ‘Todd’, but I’ve been called worse.
