This is the largest auto swap in Northern Calif in my opinion. And only once a year makes it even more special. Been coming here since the early 90's, used to sell here but not lately. I am getting to old to sleep in my car like I used to. I still come here as a buyer though. Did not have much luck yesterday at the show buying a few parts, but no bikes. I was lucky to hear about a 5 speed Apple Krate for sale in Manteca on Friday the day before the show. I was able to reach the seller, and long story short, I purchased and picked up the bike on my way to the show on Friday around 6 in the morning. Seller was very accommodating and was located right on the way to Turlock. Also while at the show looking at a Fairlady Stingray for sale with JFJ1978. I asked the seller how much and they said $350 which I thought was to much for the bike and went on my way. A nice fella my age walked next to me and asked me what I thought about the price of that bike and I said I thought it was a $100 bike. He said he did also, and that he had one, and some other Stingray's and some balloon tire bikes he has had for some time and he had just decided to sell them all if I might be interested. Again to make a long story short, I will be calling him later this week to see when I can come by. Another nice fella which I find to be true about most bike enthusiasts. I have had some good luck the last few years in buying collections, and hopes this works out as well. So even though what I purchased at the meet was minimal, it turned out to be a good day.
