I just got this old Hawthorne bike and I'm looking for some period correct tires to put on it. If anyone has recommendations/pairs for sale let me know!

This tire has a marking like GT I think it maybe chen shin tire. Starts at 40 pounds air - up from there.Agressive tread. No bricks here . I tired previous to run down highway - thought I would be gone for hours.... Well that was previous combo

Anyway, with black walls. I struggled about half a block or so. Turned around. This time I changed coaster and with whitewalls - hi pressure. Gonna add a larger rear cog too.

Wards tires are original. None have been made in decades and the OP was looking for new non-rotten tires.

I second the recommendation for chain tread (replica of US Royal) if you can still get them. That tread pattern is so old it predates balloon tires, and hadn't been discontinued very long when I was trying to buy some for my 1941 Schwinn in 1976. It's a period-correct look for several different eras of bicycle. Good looking, too. Whats not to like?
