ive already started the tear down. ill be on the lookout for the date codes and such. i will see how the project turns out over time and then i will start to consider if replacing the seat or tires is something i want to do. as for now the fun of it is slowly cleaning every part and trying to make it work again. just backyard bike wrenchin. the process is my hobby

are you familiar with the location of the dates on theses specific parts? The dates do not have to be all exactly matching they rarely are but there is an accepted window for each part to be considered original.

I know the crank date spot but not the others..if you care to share your knowledge I'd appreciate it.

The fork date will be a two digit code like I show here first being month second being the year , the stem will be dated the year. This one is a 68 The handlebars are located in the clamping area. The last two digits will be the year and there are two different date codes for tires. This one is a two digit code showing the month and the year this being 10 1971 there’s also a three circle date code for tires that one’s a little more difficult to read, but pretty simple once you know how to read it if you get pictures of the circle code, we can decipher it for you
