Close competitors in the 70’s and 80’s. Mikashima and Kyokuto made nearly the same pedal. The MKS is still manufactured today but the KKT lightning is the more elusive after Kyokuto got out of the bicycle parts industry in the late 80’s.

Took some time this past weekend to unpack and mock up one of my recent purchases. 1936 Colson LWB double bar equipped with high pressure wheelset. It'll get some fender love and a full service, but that's about it. I like to ride my bikes, so I'll have to figure out the wheelset. As with most of my bikes, I try to preserve it's story. No polishing, de rusting or much cleaning.
