Did anyone make a 26" rim with 36 spoke holes? Looks like the wheels are 26", but something really funky is going on here.
I'm assuming you meant 24" rim with 36 holes, and the answer to that question is yes. It was an S-2 but it was drilled for 120 ga. spokes, surely for Whizzers. The part number was No. 3952. I have a memory that they also made a 24" S-2 with standard drilling but I haven't had a chance to go hunting for it yet. If I assumed incorrectly, please let me know and I'll try to get the answer you are looking for.

Ya, I f'd up. I counted 36 spokes so the question should have been. is there a 24" rim that has 36 holes. Thanks!

I bought this to build a klunker to ride around the neighborhood.
What did I buy? Is it really a Schwinn? Has a lot of painted pinstipe and looks like waterslide decals.
2 speed hub? Strange front drum brake? What is original, and what is not?

That is definitely a really cool find regardless of how many parts are original. I've never heard of a two speed rear hub.
