Finally riding a big boys bike
well i live in a very small northern town where no bicycle collecting is apparent. i seem very alone around here after moving here from an even more desolate area. today is our towns car show. ive decided i loaded up the 40 autocycle and the 72 manta ray and im gonna go advocate with the owner of the car show to maybe add a bike section if theres enough interest. im going to display the bikes today with no plan. just see if i can find interest in bikes. i hope to strike a chord with at least a few and maybe make this an ongoing part of our little community. wish me luck. ill have some new pics of the bikes later today.

About 10 years ago I brought 5 bikes to a large bike show at the Packard proving grounds. A few other collectors joined me. From a high wheel to a Krate. Including a Glidacycle. Bikes were a big hit as it reminded the old timers of their childhood especially the balloon tire bikes .

Good luck and have fun!

I live in kind of a desolate area as well. I've not taken any of my bikes to a show and are mostly viewed by UPS drivers lol! If I'm in the garage with the door open, most like to take a quick peak and show a lot of interest with questions. Some have never seen old bicycles. Someday I'll load a few up and crash a show. Take some pics today if you can! 👍

Hey guys, thanks so much for chiming in. The show was great. I think more necks snapped when they saw the bikes than the cars but. My wife walked the manta and I rolled the autocycle through the entire show twice. Stopping to talk to judges and simple passer bys it went really well. From the short time we talked I may be in contact with the organizer for a small side show perhaps during the annual car show. Im sorry to report my wife forgot her phone so I missed a bunch of photo ops. I wanted to get some pictures for you guys. at least i found out that the pull of bicycles still seems strong. I was mostly impressed by the teenage reactions.i thought they wouldn't even care but they were very excited and smiled lot so that was a cool little side note.
