Met up with my friend Allan today and checked out the Route 66 Flywheelers' antique tractor and engine show today. Allan brought his custom-built "Indian" motorbike, and I brought my '61 Murray Meteor Flite "Shoestring." Had a ton of fun cruising the fairgrounds and checking out the old tractors and engines in attendance.

There was also a good amount of classic cars out today as well, both at the tractor show, and at a nearby car show I learned about thanks to Allan.

All in all, it was a great day to catch up with a friend, check out some tractors, cars and engines, and of course, ride my bike.
Hey Austin, where was this show? I go to alot of these antique power shows around Wisconsin, Illnois ans Indiana. Looks like a good time. RideOn. Mark.

Lovely old Triumph. Much to nice to be a rat bike. Bonnieville or Tiger. Thanks for sharing. Mark.
TR6C with the original high pipes replaced with road pipes, Norton mufflers. Bash plate removed to improve oil drain access. It’s a shined up rat. Welded repairs to the head. The engine case was repaired where a busted secondary chain went through. Bent exhaust cam replaced. The frame was spray bombed black while the engine was out. The chrome is high quality and shined up well. I had a shop do most of the repair. It ran before it was refurbished but misfired. Now it runs good. Positive ground batteryless ignition converted to 12 volt - ground with a battery.

Rode the 57 Huffy to work this morning.

Technically, I rode it yesterday, right after I brought it home. It's a Firestone Pilot bike, but I'm not sure on the year or manufacturer. Someone customized it years ago, even before the previous owner bought it. I just aired up the tires, then swapped out the seat and kickstand after a quick test ride. It needs some work, but it is a rider!

I'm thinking Colson-Firestone. Check seat post diameter, Colson would be 3/4". Any pics of the serial number?

I had another person on ratrodbikes.com suggest Huffman, based on the dropouts and this post here. The down tube also looks similar to later Huffman/Huffy bikes.

As for the serial number, I need to bust out the wire wheel and remove some of the paint on the bottom bracket to know for sure.

Everything is broken. The frame has been gob welded back together after a front end crash broke the head tube off but the front wheel ended out too close to the down tube. The cantilever frame part is mashed against the top tube. Stuck crooked quill, cross threaded pedals, home spoked wheels (by someone else) spoked wrong, rusted vice grip as a seat post clamp, coaster brake wheel on the front and back, 26x1 3/8 rims on a balloon frame, bailing wire to hold down the coaster arms, badly bent and dented fork, flat iron straps for fender stays, bent crank, rusted through bare seat pan, red rubber hose and hemp twine for grips, kick stand had no stop so it orbited around the frame fixed by welding on a bolt to act as a stop and layers of paint over rust.
