I'm going 100% Schwinn on the chain guard. There were a few that were similar, but the rear clamp details are Schwinn.

I agree on the chainguard & fork type, but it’s hard to argue with that perfect paint/patina match for them to have not always been on those bikes?
It was common for the spot weld on the rear chainguard bracket to pop loose, as was the bent fork from a curb impact, so most likely both items got replaced by a distributor back in the day, when it was easy to order replacement parts?
Why they wouldn’t just go directly to Huffman mfg, who’s to say?
Maybe the mechanic was partial to Schwinn as being a better manufactured part?
Replace it with the good stuff, and you’ll never have that problem again?
