Gitane's best bike, if you know you know. Paint is attractive and bright despite being pretty dinged-up and slightly faded from the original color based on the rings around the top tube--it still really pops in the sunlight! No significant dents or rust detected. Based on a few replacement parts it looks like this was probably updated in the late 1980s or early 90s, but the parts are high quality and would probably trade about even if you wanted to swap for early 70s Campy parts. We had three Supercorsas in storage and the first two went quickly without even advertising, this is the last one. Date Is based on left dropout frame number and rear derailleur.
Seat tube is 58 cm CTC and top tube is also 58 cm CTC.
Bike is in as found condition, has not been serviced or otherwise molested. All parts appear functional and felt good on a test ride with a swapped out front wheel (front tire does not hold air).
$475 $425 plus actual shipping, not shipping outside the continental US at this time. Discount possible if we don’t have to pack and ship. This is likely the only price reduction before the online listing gets removed and the bike is refitted for local sale.
Campagnolo headset
Campagnolo crankset with Lyotard pedals
Campagnolo rear derailleur is plausibly original, Dura-Ace front not so much
Campagnolo shifter levers with integral umbrella cap for a frame pump (I bet we can find a frame pump if it will seal the deal, but no guarantee it will be from 1971)
Pivo stem with unbranded bars
Superbe brake levers, Universal Competition center-pull calipers (front caliper straddle cable is expedient and does not stay in place very well)
Campagnolo seatpost with Reccia D’oro hard plastic saddle
Campagnolo Record high-flange hubs with newer Sun rims
This bike is offered by the Rusty Spoke bicycle collective in Phoenix.
