Stuckbolt

Look Ma, No Hands!
Hi, I am hoping someone can help me identify the missing components on my 1973 P65 Paramount. I have owned it for a short time and have not found a lot of information naming P65 components other than "same as men's Paramount". The bike went through a conversion from the previous owner where the original handlebars, stem, brake levers and pedals were lost. I am open to any insight/clarification on all needed components but I am particularly confused on the Cinelli handlebars needed. During my research I found another women's Paramount for sale with a "curved" top portion of the bar, unlike the "flat" top that I thought was standard on the Paramount (see pic). The curved-top bar appears to have the early Cinelli logo used in the mid '70's. Can anyone tell me if that is a P65 specific bar or maybe a P15/P65 bar for use with suicide levers on both men's and women's models? Or maybe this curved bar is just a non-correct bar for Paramount? I have also seen Cinelli bars and stems for sale with different measurements. Can anyone be specific on the correct measurements I should be looking for? Thanks in advance. Dan

Yes it is original paint, thanks for the compliment! Mark, WOW what a collection! Thanks for posting yours confirming the flat handlebar style. Yours looks like a 72 based on the Campagnolo rear derailleur and Olympic Ring decal? I think the 73 should have just the rainbow decals on the seat tube although mine are missing.

Mark is that a logo or script on the top of the stem? If you could please share a close up that will help me search for the part. Thanks!

Dan, Do you have what you need ? I have 2 Ladies Paramounts that are orginial. That I can send pictures or measurements of …

Yes, please post your pictures and if you have a 73 it may help me confirm more. I believe I found the correct stem and handlebars, and want to confirm that for 73 the brake levers are Weinmann with a gold dot and safety levers and a quick release feature. Also, by 73 I think the seat post decal changed to rainbow stripes only, instead of the Olympic banner style, and if so I would need the measurements on where the strips are located. Thank you.

the generic term for the handlebar shape with the "curved top" is randonneur

the stem & bar set on the red machine in the photo appears to be a Sakae Ringyo product, "SR" brand from Japan

The Red ladies paramount has a SR stem and nothing special bars. This bike is all orginial and if you are building it up to ride ? Get rid of the stem shifters and put Campy shifters on the down tube . The other set of bars are off my Chrome bike, they are the same bars that are on one of our men’s paramounts. … Mod. Giro D’Italia … Hope that helps ? Need more let me know
