I've recently had a roller coaster of an experience while trying to acquire a set of handlebars with sweep for this 1x1.
First, I put out a wanted ad for some rare black 1x1 Torsion bars and after a few months, I was finally able to locate some. But, the seller packaged it poorly and I was greeted with an empty flat rate box with a hole in it on my doorstep. Grrr! Some rare bars are now going to end up in the dumpster of some sorting facility. That really sucks. Luckily he insured it and USPS paid the claim for slightly more than I paid.
So back to the drawing board. Since another set of black 1x1 bars was unlikely to be found twice, I landed on a set of Salsa bend bars from eBay. These have sweep, a straight section so the basket can mount and are a bit lighter than the 1x1 bars since they're aluminum. These came from sunny Socal and the black anodizing was faded to a copperish color. I masked off some sections and rattle-canned them black again. I'll still keep an eye out for some black 1x1 bars but I'm happy with these for now. What an ordeal!
