Murray, Huffy, Ross, Rollfast, and Roadmaster and Iverson made 26"skinny-wheeled muscle bikes...

Really?! The gold one is sitting in my warehouse. The tires say 26 x 1-3/8. Must be a misprint. Have a purple one too, just can't get to it easily.

What I am seeing is a bike with 28 spoke wheels. 26" Murrays from that era have 36 spoke wheels. I have a couple of these muscle bikes myself, 24x1.75 knobby in the rear and the skinnier tire up front. I still haven't spotted any vintage tires for the rear, they're odd ducks...there are some wheelchair tires that fit the front though.

I have had an AMF Courier ladies model that came to me with a cheater slick on the back in 1-3/8" or 1.375", I don't remember which. The rubber was as hard as a rock though.
