Finally riding a big boys bike
I guess it's a '62 8 or 10 speed. It's definitely from before the Raleigh takeover, and it's got a standard thread bottom bracket for your convenience. It had a 3 speed wheelset on it when came to me. The hub was dated 1959, for what that's worth, but then how do you explain a 49 tooth chainguard on a 3 speed crank? It's got a 46-49 Williams crank that's dated 1962. It also has one of those little tabs under the downtube to hold the shifters. The internet isn't much help cause if you google Armstrong bikes all you get is our buddy Lance. I'm afraid the fork is a replacement, probably from a 27" bike.
I've currently got it set up as a single speed but I want to keep those wheels. You can have the crappy 3 speed set or a crappy ten speed set that I've got. I've also got enough levers and deraillers and stuff to set it up either way and I'll include your choice of little bits and pieces. I've also got a single crank and upright bars if you want to go that way. Or if you just want the frame, I'll let that go really cheap. Say $100+shipping for the whole enchilada?
Oh, and I've also got this post takeover lady's 3 speed that your girlfriend would look really cute on that you can have for $50+shipping.
Note the chipped corner on the one pedal;
Ugly but it holds my butt up. If you don't want it I'll keep it;
Here's that '59 3 speed. The rust comes off sorta ok in the places I've tried. The front wheel is from a Columbia or something and so's the 10 speed rear wheel;
Um, that nice new tire found it's way onto a different wheel, sorry.
