'74 lime green Varsity - fenders or no fenders?

Was thinking of finding a set of full chrome Schwinn fenders for this one. Do you think it would look good with fenders? I'm kind of torn.

I've always liked a good set of fenders on a touring bike. Chrome would look good, as would stainless. If you wanted to go lighter, aluminum fenders, or a set of white or cream colored Bluemels or similar would look fine as well. On a 1970s era bike, I don't think you're limited to Schwinn. By the mid-70s, European-style 10-speed touring fenders also were common in the USA. I had a 1970s Super Sport at one point, to which I added Velo Orange fenders.

After seeing @SirMike1983 's Super Sport, I think chrome is the way to go. Agree with @AS-1 ! I'd like to find a set of 60's or 70's 27" Schwinn chrome fenders, after seeing @60sstuff 's 1964 Varsity below.

I was also thinking of hunting down a set of lime green Suburban fenders, but the brace for the front fender would have to be modified as the Varsity does not have fender eyelets on the fork.

For me it's fenders for the tourist style bikes and no fenders for the sports style with drop handlebar.
I think the bike would look good with chrome fenders.

Thanks, Eric! I agree. Going full steam ahead with the chrome fenders - placed a want ad in the CABE classifieds for a set of original Schwinn fenders.
