A frame construction variation in 1918 - I recently provided a Motorcyke owner these measurements from a frame I have, to assist in rebuilding the top of his seat stays and pinch which had all been heavily damaged and poorly repaired decades ago.
Information I've gleaned from the Davis thread indicate this was only a 1918 occurrence for some HD frames; sharing Dayton model characteristics such as the seat cluster which also contains a lug at the top tube joint and the Dayton wide spaced chain adjusters at the rear forks.
All HD examples I’ve encountered feature bottlecap badges as well. I’ve seen this construction present on 20” and 22” Motorcyke as well as camelback "The Special" models.
The measurements below are from a 22” frame. Maybe someone else can use them in the future. I will now delete from my phone,,,

A look at the men's arch truss bar 1918-1921- Models 218, 219, 220, 221
Harley Davidson's "Heavy Duty" offering. This model did not change much during its run.
Small tweaks by catalog specs;
-1918 was the only year not equipped with a stand.
-1918 frames available in 20"-22"-24" / 1919 thru 1921 available in 20" and 22" only.
-1919 not equipped with a tool bag.
-1918 tires- Kokomo Defender tires -white sides w/ black tread.
-1919-1921 tires - Fisk, Victor Thornproof snow white tires.
All had 1” side guards, triple plate crown fork, California No. 6 bars, and Troxel Motorbike #2 saddle.
These frames have been seen with both screwed on and "bottlecap" head badges.
