About 2001 I toured west coast USA, and visited a surplus store near Carmel, California.
I collected WW2 equipment at that time, and it was an eye opener to see so many things considered ‘raré in the uk, laying unregarded on the shelves.
I bought some good items, limited by my baggage allowance. (-:
Then came EBay, and all these items had long been cleared and sold the next time I was there….

Twice a year south east of Sacramento in Plymouth Ca for four days is a Military swap and show at Camp Plymouth off hwy 16 headed into gold country. Its quite amazing. I have some WE2 USA and German memrobilia i try to post dates.

Talking to guys at military shows they claim the cost of storeage of the stuff for all these years has driven up whats left out there as well
