Factory Original 1968 White Wall SLIK from two different manufacturers having different font especially with the SLIK letters.
Very cool examples. Plus both have the same cadmium components and the colored glitter slim grips.

So what's the deal with the rolled stem on a Slik Chik?

Great photos. Both the SLIK CHIK and your '68 SR are beautiful. That SLIK CHIK will clean up great. Those are killer girls bikes. The old SLIKs are always great to see...but when we were kids the only reason we loved those Schwinn SLIKs is because nothing left a long dark mark on the asphalt as good as a Schwinn coaster Stingray with a SLIK. We didn't care if they were white walls or yellow ovals, big script or small script, no one knew what those dots meant, we'd buy a new one for eight bucks and go skidding again the next day. No tire lasted as long as those smooth Schwinn Stingray SLIKs when we were laying down skids. The Gripper sliks would wear out way sooner if you skid on them every day when you got to school. We love those Stingray SLIKs today 'cause we loved 'em when we were kids. Thanks for a great post with great photos!
