Look Ma, No Hands!
Hello. I just picked up a couple pairs of Schwinn glitter handlebar streamers, still on the Schwinn card. The problem is that the streamers are really stiff and “crunchy”. Is there any product that I could soak the streamers in to make them a little softer, so they would hang down straight off the handlebars? Now they look like a dried up bird’s nest. Thanks!

I would think you could use a hair dryer or heat gun to warm them up and try to straighten them that way.

ou could even try putting them in a pot of hot water and see if you can do it that way. You may have to try and stretch them and perhaps clamp them stretched out until they set

I’ve heard of using WD-40 to soften them but never tried it myself. If you decide to try that method, I’d like to hear about your results.

I tried a heat gun on one streamer and dipping the other streamer in a pot of lightly steaming hot water. Based on how severely dry and stiff the streamers are, the hot water worked really well to straighten the streamer. The heat gun didn’t work at all. So, the streamers are now straight. I’ll try a couple different products to see if anything will soften the vinyl. I’ll let you know.
