Does anyone still make a high quality cruiser?

So, Besides Worksman, do any current businesses still build a good quality vintage styled balloon tire-ed cruiser bike? I see the walmart level stuff, and I know the used market it usually flooded with 10-30 year old bikes from back when Electra, Felt, Schwinn, Columbia, etc. were building neat reproductions and hot rod cruisers as fast as they could, but how about now? Electra bikes all look like rentals ever since they got bought out. Anything cool?
I work in a shop that sells Jamis Bikes and they make a line of cruiser bikes that I think have comparable quality to any of the old cruisers. They have been around since the 1980s and some of the older models already look sort of retro. The new ones come in curved and straight bar models, in single, 3 speed, and 7 speed variations.

Why ride a new one when you can get a nice old one ?
If you maintain it it will go forever .

Very true. For many people, a good used bike can be a substitute good for a new one. It's hard to build a high-quality, new frame in the USA today for less than a good used example of a similar (or even the same) design. That tends to leave just the segment who really want a totally new frame, even if it is costs substantially more than used. The economics of it are difficult to overcome.

I would encourage the OP to instead (for many reasons, the list is too long) get a nice pre-war frame & fork, then built it up to your own standards, whatever they may be, piece by piece. Isn't that the most fun way to create your own bicycle to your own standards exactly the way YOU want it, ensuring nothing else like it exists? Re-use, re-cycle, re-imagine. Personally, after so many years of riding I realized that I could combine my own experiences, skills and knowledge of what works and what doesn't to create something I am proud of every time I climb on it. I have learned (it took some time!) that the best bicycle for you is one that you imagine yourself and that you build yourself, especially the wheels!! There is nothing more satisfying IMO. I guess I was never meant to be a collector, but instead simply a hack mechanic/builder/rider. A clean steel frame (many usa, hand-built pre-40, pre-Cook Bros., pre-JTT frames exist you know!) is only the start of the journey ~ skpc ~
