The chatter on this Frame ID has died off but if the OP has any updated info, it helps to fine-tune our abilities to ID unknowns. Also, not highlighted earlier, but it appears the frameset might have parts of an early/rare Campagnolo Gran Sport headset, with the engraved spacer (not a Super Record spacer) and the domed top nut...possibly also the bottom cup. The top cup is a later Record version. If the supposition that it is a French frame is correct, then likely a French-threaded headset (not as desirable, generally, but still hard to find).

No new info to share at this point. The seller hasn’t responded to questions I’ve forwarded to them from this thread. Because this is likely not a Paramount frame from the info shared here, I am no longer pursuing this.

Any chance you’re talking about this type of headset? Apologies to the OP for continuing this……I had to ask tho

Sort of....the version with the single groove on the top and bottom cups is the second version of the Campy Gran Sport headset. The domed top nut is the same for version 1 and 2, but version 1 has smooth cups, no groove....like a Campy Pista headset but different (different dimensions). Both versions usually came with a thicker spacer that had 'Patent Campagnolo' engraved on the outer edge. The one you picture looks to have had the spacer replaced with the brake cable stop (unless the spacer is hidden under the brake cable stop). The correct spacer is one of the hardest items to source when it comes to Campy headsets. I have an Campy Headsets album on Flickr that is due for an update, but that won't happen for several months (there are some missing pieces in it that I have since managed to source...). https://www.flickr.com/photos/51061132@N08/albums/72157708980849521/

The single-groove headset was generally used from 1959(?) until 1961, when the Record headset with the channel and engraving on the top and bottom cups was first unveiled (Daniel Rebour drawing from 1961 trade show). As it was used for only a couple of years, it is not common to find the single-groove headsets these days.

What I wrote above is a brief description...a more detailed description would dive into some sub-versions, like a first version with o-rings on the races....but the above gives you a general overview.
