It's up to you but if all your others have fenders ride them when it rains, those fenders really ruin the whole concept of a Klunker/beach Cruiser, kinda like puttin mud flaps on your Porsche

YES, to each their own when it comes to adding fenders on a bike that didn't come with them from the factory! BUT, adding fenders that don't fit properly just makes the bike look like crap!

If I ever get a Poorsche, I send you pictures. People in this group remove original fenders to make their klunkers, I put them back on to keep the world in balance.

See those pesky fenders all ready causing issues. You should just pass that rack along to someone like myself so it does not take away from the fenders hahahahaha
If I decide to sell, you will get it! I'm wondering if mine was made for a bike with 24" wheels instead of 26? Or did the person who created these racks despise fenders as much as you guys?

Not all aftermarket ad-on accessory items are made to work together! Schwinn did it's best to make sure any part they sold integrated well on their bikes. I would imagine that rack was not designed for a bike with fenders, as the early 80's Cruisers didn't come with fenders, and the rack was designed for just the early 80's Cruiser!

Had some time to work on my 1979 24" Schwinn Spitfire / Cruiser, installed an aftermarket 24" BMX Tube Fork w/ Schwinn decals and some used good condition BW Uniroyal Knobby Tires.
Nice Fall weather day for a 24 incher ... KlunKer Bike RiDe !

I took me some time to find this Spitfire as I just do not come across them that often. I found this 1979 on CL outside of Boston and my nephew dropped it off over the holiday. This is the bike I wanted more then anything as a teenager and never had one until now. Like a lot of them someone decided to put a bad fitting set of fenders and aftermarket knobby WW. I had to get rid of the fenders even though this bike is not slated to get a clean and grease for some time due to other obligations and winter being upon us. I also have the correct Schwinn Balloon WW for it. I replaced the seat with one similar and in better shape. Any one recognize Larry's Bike shop in Nashua NH? I included a few pics from last night ride at about 10:30 PM it was 22 degrees and I had my shorts on. I have been waiting for the cold weather all summer.
