Threw a Messinger saddle on it, put a bolt in the quill, sprayed it down with WD40, letting it soak overnight. Going to try & get the red paint off tomorrow & put some tires on ‘er

Yes, until closer inspection, perhaps the rubber blocks are original...the bodies of the pedals appear to be cadmium plated, not painted...

Oddly, a pair of these cadmium plated Torrington 8's in similar condition were on my Ladies 1943 M306, but with the standard smaller rubber blocks. I put these to one side whilst I made some wood block green painted ones from a pair of Torrington 8's with poor rubber and bad plating.

PROGRESS Pic: One Can of Graffiti remover worked WELL!… definitely need another can. I will be disassembling the bike for a thorough paint removal & cleaning

@jimmyjambo43 Nice! Look at all that OG paint! I ended up needing at least 3 cans of remover but I was fighting some tough paint. Love the updates!

@jimmyjambo43 Absolutely love the progress on your bike. This Columbia looks very original under the fire red paint.

I was comparing your last photo with the kodachrome color photo that was recently shared by @Jonesy and was curious if you could share information on the hardware blueing versus painted.

Is the Stem nut Blued (or blackened chrome) like the bearing cups? Also the bolts?

Can't wait to see this MG with it's original paint rolling again.
