Pretty certain the Frame started out as a Great Western. Identifiers are the one seat lug at the seat post junction, the further back bend in the upper bar on the frame, the noticeable size difference between the two top bars and the crankset itself, which could have always been on the frame. I found these other examples in my pic file. Yours might have a Mead repair fork on it and other repair parts. The serial number also looks Great Western...a letter and 5 digits generally. AS should have the year related to the letter down...hard to make out your entire serial number stamp..."A" was 1915 I believe....

I think it’s a mix of both Mead and GW MFG
I don’t think that a Mead badge would fit, because Mead badges had widespread holes for the fasteners.
Also, some members have postulated that in the early-middle 1920’s, Mead Cycles was building its own frames (in Chicago).

I believe that GWM did build for Mead, but in the middle-late teens?
And, Mead was known for ribbed forks, in the teens or so.
