My brothers and I were always taking things apart and putting them back together, so it's quite possible that I ended up with the wrong frame. Judging from what's here, it would appear that this is probably a 1966. The correct seat for that would be tufted silver glow, right? And is that more of a metal flake silver?

Let’s see some pictures of your whole bike

It's definitely the wrong frame. It doesn't have the Super deluxe chainguard. It seems weird, but I'm going to be looking for other parts to match the back wheel and Springer fork, which are the only parts I know to be authentic. It doesn't have to be perfect, but I would like it to represent what it was when I rode it when I was five.

So which grips did this one have? The grips that are currently on it are sparkly gold, and those are definitely not right. Are they just a plain white grip? The fatter cushion grip, or just a thin grip?

The C4 frame would have been like this only ...

It seems like you're describing a 1965 Schwinn Sting-ray J-33 ... 1966 offered springer on the Super Deluxe.

That's interesting. So was there a j33 in early 1964 with a standard non-chrome chain guard with the wing in the back, that came with a two speed overdrive and a 20-in springer?

I'm going to start a new thread on this since we're now talking about something other than seat upholstery. Thanks for all your help.
