Here are the two threads mentioned earlier on a "Western Germany" produced juvenile - one can almost make out the "PRECISION ENGINEERED IN WESTERN GERMANY" transfer on the head tube -

I'm a little late to the party here, but the chain guard is identical to a 1960 Comet, but the frame is earlier.
