Fully CNC machined 6061 Aluminum caliper brake adapters with internal threading for added strength and stability. Will work any Schwinn frame not originally set up for caliper brakes. Comes with complete mounting hardware. Will work on other similar style brake bridge or fender mounts. Last three pictures show adapter installed. I like the way they fit into the bridge, but, can they be made so the brake is higher and not so close to the tire?

An 890, wouldn’t a 1020 and 1080 be even longer?

I have a similar adapter applied to a post war frame and it successfully positioned the mx1000 with the shoe at the very top of the block.

And here’s the same bike with the 890 caliper leaving about a 1/4” adjustment in the block.

The MX 900 would be ideally suited for these adapters, having the same length as the 890 but the features and strength of the 1000. Those are hard to come by.

I’ve ordered one of the OP’s adapters and will post photos as soon as I get it mocked up using the MX900.

Couldn’t the hole be drilled a little closer to the bridge to raise the caliper and have more adjustment vertically on the pads?
