I have a similar adapter applied to a post war frame and it successfully positioned the mx1000 with the shoe at the very top of the block.

And here’s the same bike with the 890 caliper leaving about a 1/4” adjustment in the block.

The MX 900 would be ideally suited for these adapters, having the same length as the 890 but the features and strength of the 1000. Those are hard to come by.

I’ve ordered one of the OP’s adapters and will post photos as soon as I get it mocked up using the MX900.

There’s limited space to move the pivot rod hole upwards before intersecting the bore that the mounting bolt resides in.

Moving it up to its maximum height would be ideal for adjustability of the shoes but strength becomes jeopardized. The one I currently own, utilizes a socket cap machine screw to mount the adapter to the frame and it’s the head of that fastener that takes up space that otherwise could be used to position the pivot rod at its highest point.

I imagined if it were made of steel and a threaded rod (set screw) took the place of the socket cap and was captive to the adapter via high strength thread locker, you gain the strength of steel and can minimize the threaded bore, allowing the cross bore hole to be moved up at least another 1/4”.

Now I’m assuming this version is also using a socket cap screw (Allen head) since I see the bore extends all the way through the base of the adapter.

Just my input for the OP, having put one to use and noodled on making improvements to allow for the use of the superior caliper design of the MX1000 while affording some adjustability in the shoe position.

If you can design it the way I’ve described and build it from SS, that would be a home-run and probably sell well.
