You won't see one of these very often, that's for sure. Depression-era Shelby pre-30's. Thank you for posting and contributing here @jd56 and good luck getting it back together...
Thanks. We appreciate all the hard work you've put into this.

Wonder what the correct rear hub would be for 1928.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

JD has sparked my interest in a project that's been kicking around in my back yard for a bit. We were guessing at the maker on this one a while back. I was sure it was a Shelby and was going to do a Lindy out of it. It has a similar serial number as JD's. Is it a Shelby? Could this have been a Lindy? Would it be the correct set-up to make a Lindy out of? Thanks

I have one to add. I hope this helps the list! I asked another member to help me date it and we believe it’s a 1938. It’s all original, but I added a steel tank to it. Still need to patina finish the tank to match the bicycle.

Number is:

R 595697

Looks like a late 1939 or early 40. Round top fork, base model guard and rack. That was a late thing for Arrows.

I'd install blackwall tires if it were mine. The white pops too much over the rest of the bike. Just my .02. Great bike though.
