When I moved here 30+years ago, it was a "rough" neighborhood. I needed a crane to move several of my large machines and luckily there was a crane company owner just a little ways down PCH (highway 1) from me. So he ends up doing a great job "landing" my big parallelized CNC mills, then he pulls me aside and explains how thief's, gangbanger hoods, tweekers, and scumbags are dealt with in the neighborhood.

He says....
"Catch them in the act! Shoot them dead! Come over and borrow my backhoe!" AND HE WAS DEAD SERIOUS!

And the hilarious thing is.... I am now surrounded by MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR ESTATES

Sorry to hear about that folks. My house was broken into and all that was taken were loose change (an Utz pretzel container full of pennies), but they missed the Sue B. Anthony $s and silver coins on the mantle! Also took a replica Navy Colt black powder revolver that would fire without pulling the trigger; I was waiting to hear of an accidental shooting and be able to laugh about it for a change. They left my vintage Colnago I had for decades which I thought would be an easy take and quick cash, and never thought of looking in my old wooden console stereo with the hidden turntable and radio controls (I kept a horde of cash it at the time). I moved shortly thereafter!

China wants to kill the dollar as the world's currency so we lose 1/2 of our value and our lifestyle like the Brits did when he world went off the pound sterling. Theft is looked on as equalizing society. Sliding towards Socialism.
