Some nice scores this week. I bought a SUPER cool tall sissy bar last weekend and put it on my OG '76 Schwinn Sting Ray on Friday, along with a vintage matching pad. I also made room for a 1960 unique all original 7UP sign I bought from a friend. Another local bicycle collector friend let go of a beauty of a totally pro restored 1972 CCM Mustang. Even has the OG tires/ ( albeit the front has a nasty split in it) Dunlop Slick on the back/redwalls.

Every time I go to a certain friends of mine, he insists I go home with some of his junk.
Today it was pieces of a 62' 2spd Racer and a "God knows what" from his former neighbors garden.
The garden bike is a skip tooth 24" wheel... Something.
Sometimes I wish folks didn't know I like bikes.

No rust on this "relic". A 1962 Schwinn American, serial A230883. Owned by a farmers son who kept it inside and very lubed as shown by the lack of rust and lots of caked on goop. Even has most of the fender sticker. Anyone care to tell me their secret for removing pepper on chrome, I carefully use a sharp edge but that is getting hard on my old joints and muscles. Thanks and happy huntin'.

Dig the 7up signs Bob!!! One of my favorite colors for signs!

These first 2 below were actually all brown. Some stuff I used back in the day was silicone based and brought out the colors along with a some wool.

Cool, thanks. Great signs there. Nice detail/clean up work!! I was just thru your wonderful state week before last with scenic stops in Cloquete and Ada Mn. Dodged that snowstorm you had by 1 week exactly. This building pictured actually was a Grain Belt beer distributor and the sign in the brick is still almost readable. Reason for my trip was to hang out with @airflo11 and get some ballooners moved down to Georgia for @onecatahula Pete to find new homes for. I had a blast.

I bought a killer Shelby from @airflo11 ! Good dude! Next time you guys hook up let me know and I'll try to meet up. 👍

A day late, but I didn't come up short yesterday! Spent the day cruising down to southern Illinois to bring home a stupid cheap crusty 54 Black Phantom, and an equally fun and cheap 56 Wasp... I'm a sucker for the heavy duty paperboy specials. And the phantom is a dream achievement. I was 7 when the reissues came out in '95 and instantly fell in love. Add that to the fact that I'm born and raised in and around Chicago, and I've been a Schwinn fanatic ever since! Never thought I'd be able to afford one in any condition, but thank God for Facebook marketplace! 🤣
