Looking good! Those pedals don't look like they even matched the original paint. Post an ad in the Wanted section in the Classifieds. To bad Partsguy got rid of all his stuff.
I was stuck under a BMW most of the afternoon today fixing problems only a BMW could have but I managed to retrofit the new battery tray to the tank and get the headlights to work.
If I didnt mention already, fellow bicycle nerd GT58 turned me on to a 7yr old Offer Up ad for an identical Cosmic Flyer out in California (I'm in Florida). The bike was still for sale amazingly and I had it shipped to me.
That being said, the original color is a bit more green now that I have a untouched example in front of me but its not terribly far off.
One thing I found interesting that I havent seen on other bikes is they painted the frame of the Troxel seat to match the frame. It does seem to be original. So I did the same to my rebuilt seat. Just need to acetone rub the coil springs so they're chrome again.
Guess its been a minute since I posted anything about this. So I've got her buttoned up minus mounting the original fenders which I'm going to re-use. I've put all the elbow grease had left into cleaning them up but I think a little rust will remind the owner that's it's really her old bike. Shawn has been amazing in making the decals and I'm waiting in just one more tank graphic to come in and then this ole' gal can go home and I can find a new reason to pull my hair out next week . I'll update again to share how things went with the owner. I appreciate all the help from members on this one. Learned a lot and that why I do this. Here are some glamour shots (don't worry, I fixed the seat stem lol)
Final tank decals arrived and I promptly installed them. Also, I know these aren't the correct headlight lenses BUT they fit snug and look pretty good.
And for comparison, I believe these are Flightliner lenses I used on the other matching Cosmic Flyer.
