Getting ready to transform this Schwinn step through frame into a Boardtrack racer bike. Top curved bar leaving a new straight bar going on top. White tires, painted rims to match the frame. Should go pretty fast. Not sure on what engine I'm going to use from my stash.

Wrenched and more cutting today. Working on the backside of the head tube to the seat post so I can run a horizontal tube for the hanging tank and seat post.

Worked on my ‘37 Elgin Oriole again today. Faux patina painted my mismatched replacement fork to match frame

Cleaned up the crusty crank/chainring assembly and installed. Installed the Torrington 10’s I rebuilt quite a while ago…

Pounded out a few dents in front fender and cleaned and greased front fork cups/bearings. Shimmed the sloppy front fork bearing race and put it back together.

About all I have left is to put chain on and maybe put some different tires on. I had a good laugh when I saw brake arm facing wrong direction in my last picture. . I came up a few links short on my skiptooth chain and haphazardly bolted wheel in before going and getting some chains I had at a friends house.

Had to wait on a special tool from Germany to remove the sprocket on my Pinion transmission. That came in yesterday and I was feeling froggy enough that I went ahead and removed it from the bike just to see how easily it could be done. Only reason I needed to remove the sprocket was to get to a loose mount bolt hidden behind it that was causing some annoying creaking sounds.

I put some Teflon on the mount bolts since I found my thread locker dried up, hopefully that keeps them from backing out for another 1000mi or so. It probably won't hurt to service it soon, but I'm pretty sure the service tool I have is too large for the port on this one. I'll have to research that and the type of oil it needs.

Anyways, got that back together this morning and got that off of the stand. Then blew this Spitfire apart for a much needed detail.
