What bike did you work on today?

I needed a cheap ride for the daily trip to the post office. Last night I found this 2010 Gant branded Dutchie on marketplace.

Is there any indication of what that crankset is?
I like the looks of it and would like to find one for one of my bikes.

A little steel wool and pent up aggression took on the rear fender of my manta ray project today..steel wool won

Knowing this was a $5 purchase and that the outer driver was cracked, I figured it still looked like a pretty good project hub.

Then I opened it up to find it all stuck together with White Lithium Grease...and missing a majority of it's bearings. I think having 7 out of the 11 loose bearings between the drivers may have contributed to the cracks...the loose piece was held in place only by the pin.

After cleaning everything, I find major pits in the bearing surfaces, and chunks missing from the Sun gear, highlighted in red.

The axle was a Wald replacement as well, the metallurgy on those is horrible! Essentially, this is what was left for serviceable parts.

Hah! the one I want to replace is also a Lasko. It says CF-21 on the back side of the crank arms.
Does yours have a model number? I'm having trouble finding it.

Apparently I have the IGH bug again...

This one only needed the coupling spring. You can see where the tip of it was broken off.

Satin blue is looking awesome on the Shelby frame. Painted it over the weekend and its been baking for a week. The 2 tone is going on this up coming weekend
