this is true only if you let old expressions be the guide for your life.:)

$1,000.00 in your pocket after 6 months or even a year is always better than $400.00 after a week unless of course you need the money to pay the rent.
I totally agree. The question: can you wait six months if the rent is due next week? Only the seller knows the answer to that question. Back in the day, I never needed to sell anything.....until I really needed to sell it.

I always laugh my buns off when I read a listing that says, "I don't really need to sell it. I'm just testing the waters." Yah, sure.

Where do you have the best luck selling a vintage bike? ...

Locally is usually the Best! ... Private Sales! ... CASH in Hand ... $ Dead Presidents Rule! $
Swap Meets & Bicycle collector gatherings, where a Serious Collector can see it in person, Pick-up Only! ... No Shipping!
TheCabe is a great place to try your luck! ... Lots of Collectors Here!
FB Marketplace you need patience, Dr! ... I have found many a bicycles!
FeeBay nota, fees & shipping costs have killed it. Could go on, But ...

I do also sell at a couple local swap meets.
Those are months apart, and I often get the urge to "thin the herd" when the next swap meet is months away.

Only sell at shows

Too sell efficiently I think you need to have multiple outlets too do so. I personally have no time for swap meets also I do not have time , space to amass unlimited parts for sale. I often sell them as fast as I get them. I have noticed that not everything sells quickly here on the cabe. Sometimes not at all. In that case it goes to ebay. I have stopped whining about fees and the fact that I'm going to be sent a 10-99 it is what it is. I know the rules and choose to play by them like a competent adult does in life. FB seems to be as much a pain in the A$$ as anywhere and I have no interest right now in joining. I'm also learning what not too bother posting here on the cabe because there is not enough interest.

I couldn't agree more!

It is funny how people constantly complain about the fees associated with selling on Ebay! I just adjust my pricing to incorporate the fees into my pricing. Ebay gives me way more exposure to the customer base that I am looking to sell to. Is is a win-win for me! I do list some stuff here on the Cabe, but it rarely sells. Just to many people wanting something for next to nothing because they are a "CABE MEMBER" and they feel I should be willing to sell it to them at a reduced rate.........LOL

I don't do Craigslist, or FB marketplace for sales. I have no time to spend running around to meet someone for a delivery, and I don't want anyone coming by my residence for a pick up. And the FB marketplace is full of scammers!!!!!!
