Getting back to what @johan willaert said about the Huffman HF-777, in the black-and-white Army photo . . . (The picture shows the bike's whirlwind chainring and special pedals.) . . .

The bike was equipped with short straps, to be attached to a slightly modified Army M-1928 Haversack, according to Johan.

Separately, I found a short reference to a folding bicycle in a Dec. 23, 2023, post by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC).

But we could not determine the name of the bike company, or the time frame. Regardless, here is what popped up at the DTIC site during a search:

"It was possible to fold this bicycle, and ready it for attachment to the haversack, in 1 minute and 30 seconds . . ."
