The D 19 Model came with the hornet name in 1950. And the spring Fork was an option.

With so many critical parts missing, it could just as easily be a D-13.

As seen in the 1950 Schwinn Dealer Catalog:

The D 19 Model came with the hornet name in 1950.
Incorrect.

Okay, (D-19) is what is commonly known as and called the Hornet. The D-13 is not the same as a D-19.
The Hornet name did not exist until mid 1951. Actually, there is some very good history regarding the birth of the Hornet name. It is all documented in the earliest Reporter news letters. I'll put it together in another thread when I can. Good stuff! I wouldn't know of it had it not been for Mark Mattei.

Thanks for all of the discussion!

I guess maybe I'll see what the fenders I have are "holed" for and see what this bike becomes.

It will likely be something of a mix and match. I do understand that I could just buy a complete bike for cheaper, but too, I likely will have 300 bucks here and there before I have 1k all together at once.

Plus, I can sell the gas tank and 'Monark' spring fork to pay for some of it.

Oh, I see in the Cycleplane ad, they said you can get a locking spring fork with it. So, I can hunt for that stuff over time.

We'll see how that goes.

Ah! So ok...I looked back in my CABE history and saw that I got this bike or most of it from Frank81. It was originally a D-12 I think.
