Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
For sale:
1953 Raleigh Lenton Sports. Reynolds 531 main tubes frame, decent green paint with some touch-up on frame. Ornate/window style club bike frame lugs. White pin stripes still mostly visible. Decent original "Reg Harris" frame graphics. Desirable 23 inch frame on 26 x 1 1/4 (597mm) wheels. Good Dunlop steel club rims. Sturmey Archer AW (9/52) rear hub, Raleigh front hub. Fluted cranks, 48 teeth sprocket. 22 tooth rear cog. Really nice white 1950s Raleigh steel club/road bike fenders with wire braces (the original white celluloid fenders were trashed) with new fender decal from H. Lloyd in England. Fender paint touched up in a few places as needed. New MKS Sylvan rat trap road bike pedals. Period 1950s-60s Hungerford aftermarket grips. 1960s Raleigh brake cables and housings. Housings have been patched with clear heatshrink tubing where needed. Later chrome frame pump. Wright's Olympic leather saddle in worn but usable shape. New Kenda tires with Schwalbe tubes. Raleigh Industries aluminum kickstand. Original frame-mounted shifter pulley. Nice Sturmey Archer "window" shifter. Good chrome overall. 1950s-60s Raleigh stem and North Road bars. New chain. New brake pads. All bearings cleaned and lubricated a couple years ago. I've ridden this bike over the past couple years, and it is a comfortable and somewhat sporty rider.
