Hi there,
I came across this Schwinn frame in the loft of my garage and I'm looking for some help with identification.
The serial number (C14555) shows up on the bikehistory.org database as being built either on 5/6-7 1952 or 4/12 1957 and the frame construction seems to fit the World or Traveler lines. It has a fork lock and, while the head badge is missing, the mounting holes are horizontal rather than vertical.
I'm trying to do some research to determine what it is and I think I've figured out that it might be a '52 New World - which, from my limited understanding was kind of an oddity transition bike since Schwinn changed the model name to World in that same year.
I forgot to measure the frame size, but will do that tonight.
So, what say the hive? Think I'm on the right track? Any more detail pics that might help?
thanks in advance,
Jim
