Hello,
You are most welcome. Glad I could help you.
As I have been saying for over 60 years now (YES), girl's bicycles usually just don't generate the interest (and these days, the funds) that boy's bicycles do. In the world of vintage CLASSIC bicycles in the USA, most of the hardcore collectors and speculators– and those most interested are guys. Especially older men. Naturally guys want a boy's bicycle because this is what they either wanted or can envision themselves owning. So? As sexist as it may seem, the collector "market" (such as it is) tends to gravitate mainly around boy's bicycles. Therefore, prices for girl's models usually (not always, but usually) come in a distant second.
Two easy ways to get a value idea (if not to generate a sale) are to:
1.) Take the bicycle to a car meet and offer it for sale. You're a car guy. Me too. I started running ads for bicycle stuff in car publications like Hemmings Motor News and Old Cars newspaper back in the late 1960s/early 1970s. I was also one of the first to set up with vintage balloon tire bicycles at old car swap meets. Clean your bicycle up as best you can, then sit it on display at a swap space with a "for sale" sign. Then see what interest/offers it may draw.
2.) With your bicycle cleaned up and tires pumped, take photos and post online "for sale" ads on eBay and CABE. If you are unsure of a price, request "best offer." On eBay you can even post with a high reserve price and see how close to that price (or to a figure that makes you smile) that the bids reach.
Hope this helps,
Leon Dixon
