Klunker V huh??

Was going through some Schwinn Reporters and happen to come across this article in the September 1978 issue about the Schwinn Klunker and Klunker V 5-speed, appears that Schwinn was planning a coaster version. Nothing about the Klunker name in any other issues for 1978 or 1979.

It is funny that they stated that the "KLUNKERS" were a specialty model, when the only difference in a single speed bike would have been a name on the chain guard since the Spitfire was already being produced for 2 years prior as of the date of that article.
