That headlight bezel has been painted, best of luck finding another one, it isn't as easy as it sounds, in my experience.
Finding one with good chrome left is even harder to do.

Yes, the "chrome" on these plastic parts somehow seems to evaporate over the years. But it is not a problem. Wet sand the bezel with sequentially finer wet & dry sandpaper, wipe it with alcohol, and paint it with silver paint of your choice. The crank cap (AKA turbodefragulator, which prevents the chain from melting during reentry) on this Murray-built Sears Spaceliner was treated that way. In this case I used a flat silver but shinier paints are available. Your bike is missing the cap so you might want to track one down. Have fun!
