as far as painting it, I thought long and hard about that...and definitely decided to paint it. When I got this bike 60 years ago, I can remember seeing it for the very first time, in my living room, on my birthday, and the image of that wild color is permanently burned into my brain. That is how I want to see that bike again. As I kid I scuffed it up, even repainted parts of the frame with a totally off color purple... that's just not going to cut it for me. It's going to look killer when I get it done. And it's going back into my living room in front of the fireplace...that's until the wife said she's been looking at it long enough...get it out of here! Still am looking to get some info as to where I can get the correct paint. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks again.

What is the LR dropout? got a photo or something to tell me where I should look? Looking at the 64 and 65 brochures they show this streamline seat with the SLIK tire in the 65 one, ...64 brochure doesn't list these items. I also don't see a Super Deluxe listed in 64. I attached the sales receipt and Cert of Ownership docs... I think mine is a 65 that my parents bought in October of 64. In the 65 brochure the price listed for the Super Deluxe is the same that they paid for the bike.

I have to vent…I have scratched my head, cried, and blown my nose, and have to accept what I am seeing and reading. I understand it’s not as valuable as an automobile and it’s your bicycle to do as you please but at some point when you have documentation or the “birth certificate” one has to say it’s a time capsule and it’s a must to preserve it’s as-is condition. I can’t help but feel great sorrow for the original paint. If your happy then so be it. I would have chipped in a donor bike to have redone for your childhood turn back the clock dream. I know we all have heard the stories of people dumping items that they had no idea of it’s value but in this day and age of technology to gain some knowledge of what exactly you have it’s a second chance to keep a special item in it’s original condition. I guess it’s sentimental to people on this forum because of the love they have for originality. Just my opinion.
