You know the expression "Same Thing, Only Different"? Well, here's proof...

Well, the '73 is almost finished. I took the rack from it for the '75, so that along with the pump will be complete. I'll probably take the front wheel from the '73 and exchange that also, as the chrome was better then and had the oil port in it. I'll see...

steerer appears bent

both in this image and in the first photo of the two machines together

would expect it to cause headset to bind

if steerer not bent then deformation confined to blades

either way, fork should be withdrawn so it can experience a rendezvous with an alignment jig

I saw that when I got them home. Ironically, no binding in the headset! Confined to only the blades.

good fortune then

lower portion of steerer has an internal butt for strength

would still recommend closely examining area of steerer just above the fork crown race for any stress marks when fork is withdrawn for alignment of blades

all best wishes with both machines

spanner twistin' tip -

remember that shells are 76mm

There was a Phillips version of the 20 as well, that is not noted on that chart, above.

Now the '75 is done!

It's wearing a black tire and the front wheel from the '73, and it looks and rides great. Thankfully I was able to get the 3-speed working properly and from here on in it's all smiles. Basically, I'll keep the other one as a "parts" bike, considering both of these only cost me $125. :p

Whoa Nellie!

Pass me me Persols. ;)

Is this the latest fashion statement in two wheelers: wearing a wheel reflector on the stern round thing only and siting it down near the hub?

Something like Michael Jackson's one glove?

HARPO, ever the innovator!

No. In my haste to get my butt on the bike and go for a little ride after finishing it, I forgot to remove it. I didn't even notice it!!

It's off now... :p
