Dont forget about the B6. They ride great and any nice original (other than dark red/cream) color combo is a great find in top condition. I would value a bike like that over the Phantom or Panther..
I agree. Painted fenders with pins look more refined than chrome, so Autocycle. But I like the Panther over the Phantom. With all the reissue cantilever tank bikes Panthers look more unique.

So @soddruntlestuntle it seams pretty evenly split so far and now we got B6’s in the mix. I thought this thread would drum up some interest. Are you any closer to making a decision?
No, I’m no closer. I’ve got two Panthers and two Phantoms I’m currently considering, but who knows what may come down the pike tomorrow, or next week. I sometimes think I enjoy the shopping experience more than the owning.

Oh, the truth comes out. You've got a "wandering eye." Well, Bru', I've got the answer!

Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee. Faster than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive. Lighter than a feather and prettier than a speckled pup.....and I know what I'm talking about...........

Panther, no contest. If one does fancy a Phantom it should at least be a forebrake bike to help balance the scale.

Funny, but these considerations are very personal, inviting others opinions likely won't make anything more clear but only more opaque.

I'd think a suitable Phantom far easier to scare up than a equivalent Panther yet the Phantom is a very worthy bicycle packed with brilliant and delicious 50's goodness.

That ‘wandering eye’ runs in my family— my paternal grandparents moved eleven times in the twelve years my father was in grammar/high school. All moves within the same school district.
